Case Study
Case study: You are interpreting for an OBYGN appointment. Your clients are Deaf immigrants with a hearing child. During the assignment, the doctor asks, “why do we need 2 interpreters and why can’t the child just interpret for her parents?” During the assignment, you learn that the 16 year old daughter is pregnant. Her parents want her to get an abortion, because she is a good student and they don't want her schooling to suffer, but she doesn't want to. Along with that, the HI takes the lead for the process and has little to no processing time, giving the wrong information.
