Professional Development Program for new Deaf Interpreters
This program is for Deaf Interpreter candidates with a commitment to learning and high motivation to start up their professional interpreting careers. This program is open to all new interpreters who have completed their basic foundation training within the past three years. Gear Up activities are designed to reinforce foundational Deaf Interpreting skills and knowledge with experiential learning activities supporting Deaf interpreters' integration into their local interpreting communities. Deaf interpreter candidates from diverse cultural, racial and ethnic backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.
At the end of the program, students will be able to do the following:
DIA programs are open to people of all backgrounds regardless of age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and gender identity. Registered participants will receive email communication if all or part of their program is cancelled.
