Application Process Instruction

Mission Statement

To support, expand, and foster the growth of a robust network of proud and authentic, ethnically diverse, experienced Deaf interpreter practitioners, through preservation of heritage and cultural identity.

Program Overview

This innovative 5-week program will include 1.5-hour weekly meetings and mentoring sessions focusing on unpacking questions such as: What is intersectionality; What is power, privilege, and oppression; How does it impact me personally and professionally; How can I form authentic relationships with my colleagues and consumers while preserving the values of my diverse identity? Our aim is for ethnically diverse Deaf interpreters like yourself to return to your community re-energized and equipped with better strategies to identify implications impacting consumers, team and interpreting situation, and support communication equality.
